Title Styles

I've found on internet too many font styles to put them all together, so I decided to chose eleven of them and show you my "Title" on my way.
Finally the one I chose is not on that list, its on my final cover magazine which is about to be uploaded. You can write down a comment which one you like the most. Thanks, Adam.

Double page spread analysis

The magazine I decided to analyse is ‘Hip-Hop connection’, namely article named “Pure Genius” which is about an old school rap star called “GZA” which is well known, very creative lyrics creator. He is also giving classes how to rhyme.

The target audience for this article is unknown group of young people, teenagers between 16, or older who loves rap music, and listen to hip-hop every time. It’s because of the name of the magazine and stylish picture of GZA on second page you can come up with a fact that target audience is exactly the same as I mentioned it over.

Because of different age of readers you can’t find too many bad words, but as the matter of fact, there are ones, which isn’t good for young people. Good example is a quote of his words placed in the middle of the article “It’s frustrating seeing rappers talks about the same shit all the time. There is so much to write about”
Speaking for myself I really likes that he speaks what he thinks with no excuses. It’s good to show young people how they supposed to act when they have to, but without bad language.
Whole article is written in typical for rappers language, with some slang and strange metaphors.

Whole article looks very nice, with stylish font, simple colours to prevent eventual problems with reading “white font on white background”. That’s way there is white background in both pages, questions are written in red colour to separate person who asks question, from GZAs answers which are in black colour . All that simple colours and font styles makes the page clear and doesn’t affect your eyes negatively though.
The layout of double page spread it’s one of the standard ones but very professional, doesn’t include any strange settings of pictures and text. First page is completely out of any pictures, there is only text like the title, interview, and quotes. Over whole page is covered by text and little border in the bottom right corner. On the other page there is only huge picture of our star. As well very stylish in same colours as the whole article (black, white, red) which for sure have some connection, even to make it looks cool.

By looking at the picture of our star I truly got mixed feeling about him. In the article he is speaking as an ordinary guy who got passion, but when we look on the picture into our head coming thoughts that he is a gangster because he is poses like in some way, which is completely opposite to his answers. I may be wrong.

Whole article is written in specific way, with typical for rappers language so front cover match perfectly into the matter of articles situated inside of magazine.

An article doesn’t demand some huge knowledge; at least it’s good to know something about someone who is a priority in the article. As a good example I can speak for myself, I came through all the questions and to be honest I didn’t get much of it because I don’t even know this guy. Reader should know something about his career and etc.

10 Questions Interview

Interview with Justin Timberlake

Your performance at Madison Square Garden – New York how did that feel? How was your experience?

The phenomenon of Madison Square Garden is that every famous artist wants to play in; it was great feeling to play there with the best musicians in entire world. The atmosphere created there by fans was incredible sensible, I was getting goose bumps every time I heard them singing with me. It took me so long to get in there, but I finally did it and I’m glad that people really loves it.

Your international fans want to know what other countries you are going to visit with FutureSex/LoveSound tour?

Well, we were considering doing concerts in Europe or Asia, the only problem is getting all the stuff to the city we are going to play in. In America travelling is much easier for us because we have got a lot of coaches on road.

How long is your tour going to take?

It is really tough to do that great tour for almost 6 months, I do performance every two weeks and we still have so many cities to visit. Honestly I’m not sure that we are going to stop tour after these six months. People are coming from other countries to see as.

You’re featuring with Rihanna “Rehab”. Why you weren’t singing there?

Rihanna asked me if I could appear in her new video clip, we didn’t even spoke about me singing with her so that “featuring” on TV shouldn’t even exist on the title. Anyway, I’m there just to show my new tattoo *laugh*.

Are you going to record a new album?

I hope so, I mean I’m doing my best to start as fast as I only can, but I don’t have enough time to get ready for this. We are still on the road doing FutureSex/LoveSound tour so we are pretty busy at the moment but we have already got ideas, lyrics, even beats, but it’s hard to say right now when we are going to start. I wish I could start in 2009 at the beginning of the year, we will see.

Are you going to invite some young talented artist? Like Chris Brown did it with Jordin Sparks?

I would really like to take some young singer to perform something with me, just to promote him and give opportunity to become a professional artist. Besides it’s always great experience to play with other artist.

What about rumours that say you are going to stop doing music, and start family?

I didn’t even know about this one, but as you mentioned it in question, these are rumours.

Have you ever thought that you could actually become a choreographer? In interview Martin Kudelka said if you wouldn’t be a pop artist, you would probably do dance classes at Broadway Dance Centre or L.A.

Ha-ha! That’s really funny. To be honest I never been thinking about this. I love to dance but I never wanted to be choreographer, because I always wanted to sing, dance is just the addition to every showcase.

How long are you working with Timbaland?

I think it all started in 2003 he worked on a number of tracks on former *NSYNC on song “Cry me a river”. Since that time, we always work together, Timbo is hugely talented with unlimited ideas of how to make a song brilliant. However, I don’t think we are going to stop working with each other, it’s good as the way it is right now, so I hope it can be only better.

You mentioned “Cry me a river”. Does that song have anything to do with Britney’s case?

Of course it has. But the video is not about her. The video is about me. I decided to record something about that case when I found out that she was cheating me.

Thank you for your interview and wish you best!

Thanks.
